Before you begin

Checkpoints before you start
- Connector layout: Compare each vehicle connector, adapter harness, and included extension wire against the product-page images before powering the RIGNOX tail lights.
- Inner and outer lamp sequence: Remove the outer quarter-panel lamps first, then the inner trunk-lid lamps; reinstall in the same order.
- Harness routing: Route linking harnesses through the factory grommets or existing trim paths. Keep wiring away from hinges, latch movement, weather seals, exhaust heat, and sharp sheet-metal edges.
- Transferred parts: Move brackets, bulb holders, seals, or decorative plates only when the removed original lamp clearly carries a part the new one does not.
Tools and supplies

Remove the original tail lights
- Open rear access: Open the trunk and remove only the trim panels, access covers, cargo liners, or clips needed to reach the lamp fasteners.
- Expose lamp fasteners: Fold back liners or sound insulation carefully so clips can be reused during reassembly.
- Support the lamp: Hold the lamp with one hand while removing nuts, bolts, screws, clips, or bulb holders.
- Disconnect vehicle connectors: Press each lock tab and pull by the connector body, not by the wires.
- Release locating pins or ball studs: Pull the lamp straight out along its locating pins. Do not pry against painted body panels.
- Repeat for the inner lamps: Remove the left and right inner trunk-lid lamps using the same sequence.
Install the RIGNOX tail lights
- Compare assemblies before mounting: Compare each removed original lamp with its RIGNOX counterpart. Transfer bulb holders, seals, brackets, or decorative pieces only when the original clearly carries a part the new one does not.
- Connect the main harness: Match each included connector to the corresponding vehicle connector and confirm the lock tab clicks into place.
- Route linking harnesses: Run extension wires and decoder wires along the factory trim or grommet path.
- Secure wiring before mounting: Use zip ties to prevent rubbing, pinching, water pooling, or contact with hinges, latch movement, weather seals, exhaust heat, and sharp metal edges.
- Seat and fasten each lamp: Align locating pins, ball studs, clips, and body gaps on both the outer and inner lamps. Tighten original retainers evenly without over-tightening plastic mounts.
- Reinstall trim last: Leave trim open until every electrical function passes testing.
Electrical and function test
- Test parking/running lights, brake lights, left and right turn signals, hazards, reverse lights, and the startup animation.
- Confirm the turn signal fires as a sequential sweep on both sides.
- Test both outer and inner lamps before reinstalling trunk trim.
- Confirm the brake gradient ramps correctly and the reverse section throws clean white light.
- After all tests pass, reinstall trim panels and close the trunk slowly to confirm no wire is stretched or pinched.
Final check
- All connectors are fully seated and locked.
- All included harnesses are secured away from movement, sharp edges, water paths, and heat sources.
- All four lamps sit flush with even body gaps, properly seated seals, and no trapped harness under the weather seal.
- All tail light functions test correctly on both sides with a helper operating the controls.
- No warning lights, hyperflash, flickering, abnormal heat, moisture entry, or loose modules remain after a short function check.
Troubleshooting
- One tail light does not turn on: Recheck the main connector, side-specific extension wire, and any plug-in adapter supplied with the kit.
- Inner trunk-lid lamp does not light: Confirm the trunk-lid harness passes through the correct grommet and the connector is fully seated with the lid closed.
- Brake, reverse, running, or turn function is wrong: recheck which plug and adapter you used against the photos on this page. Don't cut wires or move pins: get installation help and we'll sort it out.
- Warning, flicker, or hyperflash appears: Confirm the included decoder or load resistor is installed exactly for this product and vehicle trim.
- Trim will not sit flush: Check for a trapped harness, misaligned clip, folded weather seal, or incorrect grommet position.
