2010-2015 Lexus RX350 / RX450h Sequential LED Tail Lights Installation Guide

Step-by-step RIGNOX installation guide for 2010-2015 Lexus RX350 / RX450h Sequential LED Tail Lights, including the with Tailgate liftgate bar. Covers connector layout, removal, installation, function test, and troubleshooting.

Important: This online guide is a product-image-verified overview for the matched RIGNOX product. It uses the product page, product reference images, and visible lighting-function details to guide product-side checks. Confirm hidden vehicle-side fasteners, trim clips, and wiring access points on your exact vehicle before removal.

Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

What is in the box

  • without Tailgate: left and right outer lamps (body-mounted), left and right inner lamps (liftgate-mounted), and two connecting wires that link each outer lamp to its inner lamp.
  • with Tailgate: everything above, plus the lit liftgate bar that replaces the factory chrome trim strip between the inner lamps.

Product reference images

Use these images to compare the lamp shape, rear housing, visible plug layout, and lighting functions before final assembly.

Reference images for this product are being added.

Connector layout

Each side has an outer lamp and an inner lamp. The product reference diagram labels the plugs as follows:

  • A — DRL / turn signal (vehicle connector)
  • B — brake light (vehicle connector)
  • C — connects to wire C1 on the included connecting wire
  • D — connects to wire D1 on the included connecting wire
  • E — reverse light (vehicle connector)
  • F — DRL (vehicle connector)

The connecting wire (C1 / D1) runs between the outer lamp on the body and the inner lamp on the liftgate on the same side. Match each plug by shape and label; do not force a connector that does not seat by hand.

with Tailgate only: the right inner lamp has one extra plug that feeds the liftgate bar. The rest of the wiring is identical to the four-piece set.

Product image checkpoints

  • The matching product page identifies this as a direct-fit, plug-and-play installation. Use the connector diagram above and confirm each connector lock before reinstalling trim.
  • The visible product functions are running light, brake light, amber sequential turn signal, reverse light, and startup animation. Test each function before closing the access panels.
  • Do not add universal electrical parts unless RIGNOX support confirms they are needed.

Before you begin

  • Confirm the exact product: Compare the RIGNOX lamps with the product reference images, including the rear housing, plug layout, and lens style.
  • Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
  • Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape around the liftgate edges and the body around the outer lamps.
  • Do not force clips: If a lamp or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
  • No grease on connectors: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; verify exact sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
  • Zip ties for securing the included wiring only
  • A helper for brake-light and reverse-light testing

Remove the original lamps

  1. Open the liftgate: Remove the access covers or liftgate trim needed to reach the inner lamp retainers, and the cargo-area access needed for the outer lamps.
  2. Support each lamp: Hold the lamp while removing its nuts, bolts, screws, or clips.
  3. Pull the lamp straight out: Release locating pins by pulling in line with the lamp. Do not lever against painted body panels.
  4. Disconnect the wiring: Press the connector lock tab and pull by the connector body, not by the wires.
  5. with Tailgate only — remove the chrome trim strip: Take off the factory chrome trim strip between the two inner lamps. Once it is off, two mounting holes are exposed; the liftgate bar uses these same holes, so no drilling is needed. Confirm how your trim strip is retained before pulling it.

Install the RIGNOX lamps

  1. Pre-check the plug layout: Lay out all lamps and match plugs A–F and the connecting wires to the connector layout above.
  2. Connect the vehicle connectors: Seat each factory connector fully into the matching RIGNOX plug and confirm the lock tab clicks.
  3. Link outer and inner lamps: Connect the included connecting wire (C to C1, D to D1) on each side. Route it along the factory path between body and liftgate, clear of the hinge and latch.
  4. with Tailgate only — fit the liftgate bar: Mount the bar in the two holes left by the chrome trim strip, then connect its lead to the extra plug on the right inner lamp. Secure the lead so it cannot be pinched when the liftgate closes.
  5. Seat the lamps evenly: Align locating pins and body gaps before tightening. Do not over-tighten plastic mounting points.
  6. Test before closing trim: Run the full function test below with the liftgate both open and closed.
  7. Reinstall trim: Refit access covers and liftgate trim only after confirming no wires are pinched.

Electrical and function test

  1. Confirm running lights on both sides, outer and inner lamps (and the liftgate bar on with Tailgate).
  2. Confirm brake lights with a helper pressing the brake pedal.
  3. Confirm left and right turn signals and hazards, including the amber sequential sweep.
  4. Confirm reverse lights with the vehicle safely in reverse and the parking brake applied.
  5. Confirm the startup animation on ignition.
  6. Open and close the liftgate several times and re-test, to make sure the connecting wires and the bar lead stay connected.
  7. Check for dashboard warnings, hyperflash, flicker, or intermittent operation before reinstalling final trim.

Final check

  • All connectors are locked, dry, and routed without tension.
  • Connecting wires and the liftgate bar lead are clear of the hinge, latch, and seal.
  • All four lamps (and the liftgate bar, if fitted) sit flush with even gaps.
  • All lighting functions pass on both sides.
  • No warning lights, flicker, hyperflash, abnormal heat, moisture, or loose wiring after a short check drive.

Troubleshooting

  • Inner lamp or one function dead: Recheck the connecting wire at C/C1 and D/D1 on that side.
  • Liftgate bar does not light: Recheck the extra plug on the right inner lamp and the bar lead.
  • Warning message, flicker, or hyperflash: Confirm every connector is fully seated, then contact RIGNOX support before adding any parts.
  • Moisture appears: Light condensation may clear as the lamp warms. Heavy or persistent moisture should be documented with photos before continued use.
