Important: This online guide is a fitment-aware overview for the matched RIGNOX product. Before removing original parts or connecting wiring, confirm the connector layout, transferred parts, wire routing, and vehicle-specific fastener locations on your exact vehicle.
Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

Before you begin
- Confirm the exact product: Check your kit SKU against the list above before removing original parts.
- Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
- Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape near painted edges around the trunk, tailgate, hatch, or cargo trim area.
- Do not force clips: If a lamp or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
- No connector grease: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.
- Rear-end note: Leave access covers and trim panels loose until every lighting function passes testing.
Tools and supplies
- Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
- Metric socket and ratchet set; confirm the exact socket sizes on your vehicle before removal
- Phillips and flat screwdrivers
- Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
- Replacement plastic clips
- Electrical tape and zip ties for securing included harnesses only

Remove the original tail lights
- Open the rear access area: Open the trunk, tailgate, hatch, or cargo area and remove the access cover or liner needed to reach the lamp retainers.
- Support the original lamp: Hold the lamp while removing its nuts, bolts, screws, or clips.
- Pull the lamp straight out: Release locating pins by pulling in line with the original lamp. Do not lever against painted body panels.
- Disconnect the wiring: Press the connector lock tab and pull by the connector body, not by the wires.
- Compare before transfer: Compare the removed lamp with the RIGNOX lamp. Transfer seals, sockets, brackets, or modules only where your kit and vehicle configuration require it.
Install the RIGNOX tail lights
- Pre-check the plug layout: Confirm the rear plug, connector count, and mounting points match before committing to the swap.
- Connect the main harness: Seat the vehicle connector fully into the RIGNOX connector and confirm the lock tab clicks into place. Where an adapter is supplied, connect through the adapter rather than forcing a direct plug.
- Route add-on wiring carefully: Secure any link harnesses, decoders, or relays away from hinges, latch movement, exhaust heat, water paths, and sharp edges.
- Seat the lamp evenly: Align locating pins and body gaps before tightening. Do not over-tighten plastic mounting points.
- Test before closing trim: Test every function before refitting access covers and liners.
- Reinstall trim: Refit covers, liners, and clips only after confirming no wires are pinched.
Electrical and function test
- Confirm running/parking lights on both sides.
- Confirm brake lights with a helper pressing the brake pedal.
- Confirm left and right turn signals, hazards, and sequential behaviour.
- Confirm reverse lights with the vehicle safely in reverse and the parking brake applied.
- Confirm the startup animation only after normal road-light functions pass.
- Check for dashboard warnings, hyperflash, flicker, or intermittent operation before reinstalling final trim.
Final check
- All connectors are locked, dry, and routed without tension.
- Included adapters, link harnesses, and relays are secured away from heat, water paths, moving parts, and sharp edges.
- Every lamp sits flush with even body gaps and properly seated seals.
- All lighting functions pass on both sides.
- No warning lights, flicker, hyperflash, abnormal heat, moisture issue, or loose wiring remains after a short check drive.
Troubleshooting
- One lamp does not turn on: Recheck the main connector lock, related fuse, and battery connection.
- One function does not work: Verify the connector is fully seated, and that the correct adapter is used where one is supplied.
- Warning message, flicker, or hyperflash: Confirm any included decoder or LED flash relay is connected and secured.
- Moisture appears: Light condensation may clear as the lamp warms. Heavy or persistent moisture should be documented with photos before continued use.
