Before you start: compare the photos on this page with your vehicle: the plugs, where the wiring runs and where the bolts are. If something looks different, stop and get installation help before you remove anything.
Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

Installation reference images

Before you begin
- Vehicle/product: 2014-2020 Lexus IS250/IS350/ISF Sequential LED Tail Lights.
- Check your kit: make sure the lights in the box are the version you ordered before removing your original lights.
- Check the photos first: look through the photos on this page before removing trim or connecting wiring.
- Power and safety: Switch the vehicle off before unplugging connectors. Disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring, fuse taps, or exposed circuits.
- Protect the vehicle: Use clean towels or masking tape around painted panels and trim edges. Do not force clips or pry against painted surfaces.
- No connector grease: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.
- Rear lamp note: Leave trunk, hatch, cargo, or tailgate trim open until every lighting function passes testing.
Reference image checkpoints
- Connector layout: Compare each vehicle connector, adapter harness, and included extension wire with the reference images before powering the RIGNOX tail lights.
- Inner and outer lamp sequence: If the vehicle has trunk-lid, hatch, through-light, or outer corner lamps, remove and reinstall them in the sequence shown in the reference images.
- Harness routing: Route linking harnesses through the indicated grommets or trim paths. Keep wiring away from hinges, latch movement, weather seals, exhaust heat, and sharp sheet-metal edges.
- Transferred parts: Move cameras, brackets, BLIS modules, bulb holders, seals, or decorative plates only when the matching reference image shows that transfer.
- RGB/app variants: Confirm controller power, pairing, mode change, and local road-lighting use before final trim reassembly.
Confirmed reference details
- Included parts: The reference identifies outer lamp assemblies, through-light foam strip, camera bracket, through-light/outer-lamp connecting wires, through-light decorative plate, and through-light assembly.
- Wire color definitions: Black is negative, green is running light, red is brake, yellow is turn signal, white is reverse, blue is fog light, and orange is signal wire.
- Through-light and outer-lamp harness: Connect the through-light and outer-lamp harnesses according to the reference image before reinstalling trim.
- Decorative plate: The reference instructs replacing the original decorative plate with the supplied decorative plate.
- Routing: Route the connecting wire along the path shown in the reference image before final trim reassembly.
Tools and supplies
- Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
- Metric socket and ratchet set; confirm the exact socket sizes against the reference images before removal
- Phillips and flat screwdrivers
- Clean microfiber towels and masking tape for painted trunk, hatch, tailgate, and quarter-panel edges
- Electrical tape and zip ties for securing included harnesses only
- A helper for brake-light and turn-signal testing
Remove the original tail lights
-
Remove the trunk-lid liner: Open the trunk lid and use a trim removal tool to release the plastic clips securing the liner. Pull the carpeted liner around the inner handle and remove it to expose the trunk-lid taillight mounting points.

-
Remove the factory trunk-lid taillights: Disconnect the electrical connector, then use a 10 mm socket to remove the two metal nuts and two plastic nuts securing the factory taillight. Push the mounting studs upward and remove the taillight from the trunk lid.

-
Access and disconnect the outer taillights: Unscrew the black retaining knob near the trunk opening, release the side-liner clips with a trim removal tool, and pull the carpeted liner aside. Press the locking tab and disconnect the outer taillight electrical connector.

-
Remove the factory outer taillights: Remove the plastic cover beside the taillight and use a 10 mm socket to remove the two mounting bolts. Grip the assembly with both hands and pull it straight toward the rear of the vehicle without moving it from side to side.

-
Remove the center trim and backup camera: Release the two small plastic covers beside the license-plate lights, then remove the four fasteners underneath. Release the clips along both ends of the center lower trim and pull the trim downward. Disconnect the backup-camera harness, release the camera from the body opening, and remove the two screws securing it to the factory bracket.

Install the RIGNOX tail lights
-
Transfer the backup camera: Secure the factory backup camera to the new clip-style bracket with the mounting screws. Reconnect the camera harness, then press the new bracket into the trunk-lid mounting opening until it locks into place.

-
Install the through-light assembly: Feed the through-light wiring through the openings on both sides of the trunk lid. Align the assembly with the locating holes and seat it against the trunk lid, then reinstall and tighten the mounting fasteners from the inside and underside.

-
Connect and route the through-light harness: Connect the through-light main plug to the factory harness. Remove the clips and plastic covers beside the trunk-lid support arms, connect the supplied long harness, and route it along the support arms or hinge pillars toward the outer taillights. Reinstall the supplied small trim covers after routing the wiring.

-
Install the new outer taillights: Feed each harness and rubber grommet through the body opening and seat the grommet securely. Slide the outer taillight straight into the guide rail, reinstall the two mounting bolts and plastic cover, then connect the adapter harness to the main harness inside the trunk. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side.

-
Test the lights and reinstall the liners: Test the running lights, brake lights, startup animation, and turn signals. After confirming that every function operates correctly, reinstall the side liners, trunk-lid liner, and all plastic retaining clips.

Electrical and function test
- Test parking/running lights, brake lights, left and right turn signals, hazards, reverse lights, fog light if supported, and startup animation if equipped.
- For through-light or linking-harness products, test both sides before reinstalling hatch, trunk, or cargo trim.
- If a camera, BLIS module, bulb holder, resistor, decoder, or controller was transferred, confirm that related vehicle functions have no warning message.
- For RGB/app variants, confirm controller power, app pairing, normal mode, RGB mode, speed/brightness controls, and the mode required for road use.
- After all tests pass, reinstall trim panels and close the trunk, hatch, or tailgate slowly to confirm no wire is stretched or pinched.
Final check
- All connectors are fully seated and locked.
- All included harnesses are secured away from movement, sharp edges, water paths, and heat sources.
- Both lamps sit flush with even body gaps, properly seated seals, and no trapped harness under the weather seal.
- All tail lights functions test correctly on both sides with a helper operating the controls.
- No warning lights, hyperflash, flickering, abnormal heat, moisture entry, or loose modules remain after a short function check.
Troubleshooting
- One tail light does not turn on: Recheck the main connector, side-specific extension wire, and any plug-in adapter shown in the reference images.
- Brake, reverse, running, or turn function is wrong: recheck which plug and adapter you used against the photos on this page. Don't cut wires or move pins: get installation help and we'll sort it out.
- Warning, flicker, or hyperflash appears: Confirm any included decoder, resistor, or harness adapter is installed exactly for this product and vehicle trim.
- Trim will not sit flush: Check for a trapped harness, misaligned clip, folded weather seal, or incorrect grommet position.
- RGB/app feature does not respond: Confirm the product variant supports RGB, the controller has power, and the app or remote is paired before closing trim.
