2004-2009 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h LED Triple Projector Headlights Installation Guide

Step-by-step RIGNOX installation guide for 2004-2009 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h LED Triple Projector Headlights, including how to confirm your RX has no factory AFS and what to do on factory HID cars.

Important: This online guide is a general overview for the matched RIGNOX product. Confirm hidden vehicle-side fasteners, trim clips, and wiring access points on your exact vehicle before removal.

Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

Matched product

  • Product: 2004-2009 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h (XU30) LED Triple Projector Headlights
  • Product type: Headlights
  • SKU: H-RX04-3P

  • Product page: View matching RIGNOX product details

Before you begin

  • Confirm your RX has no factory AFS: AFS headlights turn left and right with the steering, and the dash has an AFS OFF button or indicator. If your RX has AFS, stop: these headlights do not support it.
  • Factory HID (Xenon) headlights without AFS: Contact us with your order number before you start, and we will send the HID adapter harness you need.
  • Confirm the exact product: Compare the RIGNOX headlights to the product page images, including rear housing, plug layout, and lens style.
  • Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
  • Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape on the painted edges around the headlights, bumper cover, and fenders.
  • Do not force clips: If a lamp, bumper cover, or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
  • No grease on connectors: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; verify exact sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
  • A wall or flat vertical surface for beam-pattern checking
  • A helper for turn-signal and high-beam testing

Remove the original headlights

  1. Open the hood and locate the headlight mounting points. Remove only the trim, covers, clips, or bumper fasteners needed to reach them on your RX.
  2. Remove the mounting bolts while supporting the lamp with one hand so it does not drop.
  3. Release the lamp: Pull the headlight forward along its locating pins. Do not pry against painted panels.
  4. Disconnect the factory connectors: Press each lock tab and pull by the connector body, not by the wires.

Install the RIGNOX headlights

  1. Match the connectors: The back of each RIGNOX headlight has four plugs — low beam, high beam, turn signal, and DRL. Plug each one into the matching factory connector and push until the lock tab clicks.

  2. DRL connector: If your RX has no matching factory connector for the DRL plug, stop and contact us before wiring the DRL. Do not connect the DRL directly to the battery.
  3. Test before mounting: Reconnect the battery, turn on the lights, and confirm every function works (see the test below) before fastening the lamp.
  4. Seat the lamp: Align the locating pins and press the headlight straight in until it sits flush with the hood, fender, and bumper.
  5. Reinstall the bolts and tighten evenly, without over-tightening the plastic mounts.
  6. Reinstall the trim and any bumper fasteners you removed.
  7. Repeat on the other side.

Electrical and beam test

  1. Confirm the DRL on both sides.
  2. Confirm low beam, then high beam.
  3. Confirm left and right turn signals with the stalk, then the hazards: the DRL shifts to amber and the turn signal sweeps outward in sequence.
  4. Confirm the startup animation when the lights power on.
  5. Check for dashboard warnings, hyperflash, or flicker.
  6. Check beam aim against a flat wall and adjust with the aim adjusters on the back of the headlight.

Final check

  • All connectors are locked and routed without tension.
  • Both headlights sit flush with even hood, fender, and bumper gaps.
  • All lighting functions pass on both sides.
  • Beams are aimed correctly.
  • No warning lights, flicker, or hyperflash after a short check drive.

Troubleshooting

  • One headlight does not turn on: Recheck each connector lock, the related fuse, and the battery connection.
  • Low-beam plug does not match on a factory HID RX: The HID adapter harness is needed — contact us and we will send it.
  • Warning message, flicker, or hyperflash: See hyperflash and bulb-out warnings.
  • Still dark: Work through LED headlight or tail light not working.

Need help?

If the factory lamp or connector does not match what you received, stop before modifying wiring. Ask our install team with your order number, vehicle year and trim, and clear photos of the connectors and the back of both lamps.

Before you call it done

After the Install

No DRL plug in your harness? Vehicles that never had daytime running lights need the DRL lead wired to a fuse that switches with the key: how to find the right fuse with a test light, and how to tap it safely.

Aim the low beams before you drive at night; a projector an inch too high blinds oncoming traffic: the 25-foot wall method, and where the adjusters are on this housing.

Fast-blinking turn signals or a bulb-out message after the swap is a load issue, not a fault: how to tell hyperflash from flicker, and what to check first.

A thin mist inside the lens after a cold night is normal on any vented lamp: the automaker rule for fog vs a real leak.
