Before you begin

  • Vehicle/product: 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / 2020-2023 2500HD/3500HD Sequential LED Tail Lights | Halo.
  • SKU check: Confirm your kit SKU or variant matches T-SILV19-SR, T-SILV19-CW before removing original parts.
  • Reference-first workflow: Review the installation reference image on this page before removing trim or connecting wiring. This guide includes confirmed details from the available reference text and image.
  • Power and safety: Switch the vehicle off before unplugging connectors. Disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring, fuse taps, or exposed circuits.
  • Protect the vehicle: Use clean towels or masking tape around painted panels and trim edges. Do not force clips or pry against painted surfaces.
  • No connector grease: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.
  • Rear lamp note: Leave the tailgate open and bed-side access uncovered until every lighting function passes testing.

Reference checkpoints

  • Connector layout: Compare each vehicle connector, adapter harness, and included extension wire with the reference image and the product-page gallery before powering the RIGNOX tail lights.
  • Harness routing: Route linking harnesses through the factory grommets or existing trim paths. Keep wiring away from the tailgate hinge, latch movement, weather seals, exhaust heat, and sharp sheet-metal edges.
  • Transferred parts: Move brackets, bulb holders, seals, or decorative plates only when the removed original lamp clearly carries a part the new one does not.

Confirmed reference details

  • Two original lamp types: The reference separates OE LED type tail light and OE halogen type tail light.
  • Halogen vehicle: If the vehicle originally uses halogen tail-light bulbs, install the included resistor accessories as shown in the reference.
  • LED vehicle: If the vehicle is equipped with OE LED tail lights, ignore the shown resistor harness connector and do not install the resistor accessories.
  • Before final assembly: Confirm the vehicle lamp type by connector and original lamp back side before choosing resistor handling.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; confirm the exact socket sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape for painted tailgate and bed-side edges
  • Electrical tape and zip ties for securing included harnesses only
  • A helper for brake-light and turn-signal testing

Remove the original tail lights

  1. Remove the mounting screws: Open the tailgate and remove the two T15 Torx screws from the inner side of each tail light.

Electrical and function test

  1. Test parking/running lights, brake lights, left and right turn signals, hazards, reverse lights, and the startup animation.
  2. Confirm the turn signal sweeps in sequence on the correct side and both sides light at equal brightness.
  3. Confirm no bulb-out warning, hyperflash, or flicker appears after two ignition cycles.
  4. After all tests pass, reinstall access covers and close the tailgate slowly to confirm no wire is stretched or pinched.

Final check

  • All connectors are fully seated and locked.
  • All included harnesses and resistor accessories are secured away from movement, sharp edges, water paths, and heat sources.
  • Both lamps sit flush with even body gaps, properly seated seals, and no trapped harness under the weather seal.
  • All tail light functions test correctly on both sides with a helper operating the controls.
  • No warning lights, hyperflash, flickering, abnormal heat, moisture entry, or loose modules remain after a short function check.

Troubleshooting

  • One tail light does not turn on: Recheck the main connector, side-specific extension wire, and any plug-in adapter supplied with the kit.
  • Brake, reverse, running, or turn function is wrong: Stop and recheck the connector choice and wire routing against the reference image before moving pins or changing wiring.
  • Warning, flicker, or hyperflash appears: Confirm the resistor handling matches your truck's original lamp type (halogen: resistors installed; OE LED: resistors omitted) and that any adapter harness is installed exactly for this product and trim.
  • Trim will not sit flush: Check for a trapped harness, misaligned clip, folded weather seal, or a locating pin that has not seated.
