2020-2026 Toyota Corolla Sedan Full-Width Bar Sequential LED Tail Lights Installation Guide

2020-2026 Toyota Corolla Sedan Full-Width Bar Sequential LED Tail Lights installation guide

Important: This online guide is a fitment-aware overview for the matched RIGNOX product. Before removing original parts or connecting wiring, compare the product-page image gallery (rear housing, plugs, included harnesses) with your factory lamps and confirm the connector layout, transferred parts, wire routing, and vehicle-specific fastener locations on your exact vehicle.

Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

Scope note: This is not a pure bolt-off, bolt-on job. The outer lamps plug straight into the factory connectors, but reaching them means removing the trunk-side trim panels, and the center bar replaces the factory garnish above the license plate. Budget 45 to 60 minutes with basic socket tools.

Product notes

  • Three-piece set. Left and right tail lamps plus a center full-width bar that spans the trunk lid. The factory sedan has no full-width bar, so the center piece replaces the factory garnish panel above the license plate.
  • Center bar power. The center bar draws power through the supplied no-cut harness, tapped from the left and right lamps. Clips and plugs throughout, no splicing.
  • Trim removal required. The trunk-side trim panels must come off to reach the outer lamp fasteners and connectors.
  • Sequential turn signal and startup animation run without an external controller once the harness is connected.
  • The Smoked RGB variant is controlled through the Star Light Running app and ships with an RF remote that returns the bar to red with one button. See the RIGNOX RGB light app guide for pairing.
  • Brake and turn functions stay red and amber on all three variants, as road use requires.
  • Factory Blind Spot Monitor sensors sit inside the rear bumper, so this upgrade installs with no impact to blind-spot or rear cross-traffic alert.
  • The matched product page references road-lighting compliance information. Review the product page for the exact compliance language for this item.

Before you begin

  • Vehicle/product: 2020-2026 Toyota Corolla Sedan Sequential LED Tail Lights, Full-Width Bar.
  • SKU check: Confirm your kit SKU or variant matches T-COR20-SRT, T-COR20-SWT, or T-COR20-RGB before removing original parts.
  • Body style check: Confirm the vehicle is an E210 sedan. Hatchback and GR Corolla use a different housing, mounting point and connector.
  • Time and tools: Budget 45 to 60 minutes. Basic metric socket tools and a trim panel tool are enough.
  • Product-page check: Compare the product-page image gallery with your factory lamps before removing trim or connecting wiring.
  • Power and safety: Switch the vehicle off before unplugging connectors. Disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring, fuse taps, or exposed circuits.
  • Protect the vehicle: Use clean towels or masking tape around painted panels and trim edges. Do not force clips or pry against painted surfaces.
  • No connector grease: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.
  • Rear lamp note: Leave trunk trim open until every lighting function passes testing.

Checkpoints before you start

  • Connector layout: Compare each vehicle connector, the supplied no-cut harness, and the center-bar tap points against the product-page images before powering the set.
  • Garnish panel removal: Identify the factory garnish clips above the license plate before pulling. The garnish is removed, not reused.
  • Center bar harness routing: Route the center-bar harness so it does not cross the trunk latch, hinge travel, or the weather seal.
  • Transferred parts: Move brackets, bulb holders, seals, or plate lamps only when the removed original lamp clearly carries a part the new one does not.
  • RGB variant: Confirm controller power, Star Light Running app pairing, RF remote function, and local road-lighting use before final trim reassembly.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; confirm the exact socket sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape for painted trunk lid and quarter-panel edges
  • Electrical tape and zip ties for securing included harnesses only
  • A helper for brake-light and turn-signal testing

Remove the original tail lights and garnish

  1. Open the trunk and remove trim: Remove the trunk-side trim panels, access covers, and clips needed to reach the outer lamp fasteners.
  2. Support the lamp: Hold each outer lamp with one hand while removing nuts, bolts, screws, clips, or bulb holders.
  3. Disconnect vehicle connectors: Press each lock tab and pull by the connector body, not by the wires.
  4. Release locating pins or ball studs: Pull the lamp straight out along its locating pins. Do not pry against painted body panels.
  5. Remove the factory garnish: Release the garnish panel above the license plate at its clip positions. Set it aside; it is replaced by the RIGNOX center bar and is not reused.
  6. Repeat by side: Repeat the outer lamp removal for the opposite side.

Install the RIGNOX tail lights

  1. Compare assemblies before mounting: Compare each removed original lamp with its RIGNOX counterpart. Transfer bulb holders, seals, brackets, or plate lamps only when the original clearly carries a part the new one does not.
  2. Connect the outer lamps: Match each included connector to the corresponding vehicle connector and confirm the lock tab clicks into place.
  3. Fit the center bar: Seat the center full-width bar in place of the factory garnish and align it to the trunk lid clip positions before tightening anything.
  4. Connect the no-cut harness: Plug the supplied center-bar harness into the tap points on the left and right lamps. Do not cut or splice any vehicle wiring.
  5. Secure wiring before final tightening: Use zip ties to prevent rubbing, pinching, water pooling, or contact with the trunk latch, hinge travel, weather seals, and sharp metal edges.
  6. Seat and fasten: Align locating pins, ball studs, clips, and body gaps on the outer lamps and center bar. Tighten original retainers evenly without over-tightening plastic mounts.
  7. Reinstall trim last: Leave trim open until every electrical function passes testing.

Electrical and function test

  1. Test parking/running lights, brake lights, left and right turn signals, hazards, reverse lights, and the startup animation.
  2. Confirm the turn signal sweeps in sequence across the outer lamps on both sides.
  3. Confirm the center bar lights with the running and brake circuits and is not powered when the vehicle is off.
  4. Confirm blind-spot and rear cross-traffic alert operate normally with no warning message.
  5. For the Smoked RGB variant, confirm controller power, Star Light Running app pairing, colour and effect selection, and the RF remote one-button return to red.
  6. After all tests pass, reinstall trim panels and close the trunk slowly to confirm no wire is stretched or pinched by the lid or latch.

Final check

  • All connectors are fully seated and locked, including both center-bar tap points.
  • All included harnesses are secured away from latch movement, hinge travel, sharp edges, water paths, and heat sources.
  • Outer lamps and center bar sit flush with even body gaps, properly seated seals, and no trapped harness under the weather seal.
  • All tail light functions test correctly on both sides with a helper operating the controls.
  • No warning lights, hyperflash, flickering, abnormal heat, moisture entry, or loose modules remain after a short function check.

Troubleshooting

  • Center bar does not light: Recheck both no-cut harness tap points at the left and right lamps. The center bar draws power from the outer lamps, not from a separate vehicle circuit.
  • One tail light does not turn on: Recheck the main connector, side-specific extension wire, and any plug-in adapter supplied with the kit.
  • Brake, reverse, running, or turn function is wrong: Stop and recheck the connector choice and wire routing against the product-page images before moving pins or changing wiring.
  • Warning, flicker, or hyperflash appears: Confirm the integrated CANBUS decoders are seated and the harness is installed exactly for this product and trim.
  • Center bar sits proud of the trunk lid: Check that every factory garnish clip was released and that no clip remains in the trunk lid before seating the bar.
  • RGB or remote does not respond: Confirm the variant is T-COR20-RGB, the controller has power, the Star Light Running app is paired, and the RF remote battery tab has been removed.
