Before you begin

• Vehicle: 2021-2023 Ford F-150 tail light installation.
• Choose the correct variant before installing: XL/XLT Base is for original halogen trucks without BLIS. XLT/Lariat Mid and Platinum/King Ranch/Limited/Raptor High are BLIS-compatible configurations and are not interchangeable with the base version. The Raptor takes the Platinum/King Ranch/Limited/Raptor High version.
• Onboard Scales check: Open the center display, go to Features, and look for Onboard Scales. If your truck has that option, none of these variants will fit - stop and contact support before removing anything.
• Tail Lamp Heat note: This product does not support Tail Lamp Heat. Confirm the vehicle equipment before installation.
• BLIS caution: If your truck has BLIS, handle the original blind-spot module carefully and reinstall it as shown in the reference images.

Remove the original tail lights

1. Remove tail light retainers: Remove the original tail light fasteners at the bedside. Support the lamp so it does not drag across the painted bedside.
   
   

2. Pull out the factory tail light and disconnect it: Hold the tail light firmly and pull it straight rearward to release it from the locating pins. Support the housing as it comes free, then disconnect the factory wiring connector. Do not pull on the wires.
   
   

Configuration and harness check

Base halogen / no BLIS reference: The low/base reference identifies the main connector positions as ground, reverse positive, turn positive, driving positive, and brake positive. Use this as a function-check reference, not as permission to cut or repin wiring.

OEM Mid Version — How to Identify: Check the back of your factory tail light. The OEM Mid Version has a BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) module mounted on the back of the tail light, as shown below. Pay attention to the BLIS module position, connector location, and surrounding housing layout. If the back of your original tail light matches this reference, select and follow the Mid Version installation instructions.

OEM High Version — How to Identify: Check the back of your factory tail light. The OEM High Version also has a BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) module, but the module position, connector arrangement, and rear housing layout are different from the Mid Version, as shown below. If the back of your original tail light matches this reference, select and follow the High Version installation instructions. Raptor trucks use this version.

If neither reference matches: Stop. A rear housing that does not match either the Mid or the High reference may be an Onboard Scales unit, which none of these variants replace. Contact RIGNOX support with photos before continuing.

Install the RIGNOX tail lights

Low Configuration Installation

1. Connect the main plug: Use this procedure when the back of the original tail light and its main connector match the Low Configuration reference. Connect the main plug on the new tail light to the vehicle-side wiring connector.
   
   

Mid/High Configuration Installation

1. Remove the original module mounting screws: Place the removed factory tail light on a protected surface with the rear of the housing facing upward. Remove the four screws securing the original module, as indicated in the image. Keep the screws for the next steps.
   
   

2. Remove the original module: Lift the original module out of the factory tail light. Handle the module and attached wiring carefully, and avoid pulling or twisting the connector.
   
   

3. Prepare the new LED tail light: Place the new RIGNOX LED tail light on a clean, soft surface. Remove the white protective paper covering the module mounting area to expose the installation location. Transfer the original module removed from the factory tail light to this mounting location, then secure it with the original screws. Do not discard or modify any wiring connectors.
   
   

4. Test the lights and reinstall the assembly: Before securing the tail light, turn on the vehicle lighting and verify the running light, brake light, turn signal, and reverse light functions. Turn the vehicle off again. Align the tail light with the original locating points, press it evenly into position, and reinstall the two factory mounting bolts. Do not overtighten.
   
   

Electrical and function test

1. Test parking/running lights, brake lights, left and right turn signals, hazards, reverse lights, and startup animation if equipped.
2. For BLIS-equipped trucks, confirm the blind-spot system does not show a warning after the module is reinstalled and connected.
3. If brake and turn signal behavior is reversed or one function does not work, recheck the connector choice shown in the reference before closing the lamp area.
4. If a warning, hyperflash, or flicker appears, confirm whether your matching reference requires the load resistor installed or removed.
5. After both sides pass testing, reinstall any trim or access panels and perform a final road-light function check.

Troubleshooting

• BLIS warning appears: Recheck that the original BLIS module was reinstalled on the correct lamp side and connected to the original BLIS connector.
• Brake and turn functions are swapped: Recheck the brake/turn shared-wire connector choice shown in the reference images.
• Hyperflash or warning message: Confirm the correct load-resistor instruction for your matching configuration. Version 1 and Version 2 references show different resistor handling.
• One function does not work: Verify the main connector is fully seated and that the harness matches the selected product variant.
