Before you begin

• Confirm the exact product: Compare the RIGNOX tail lights to the product reference images, including rear housing, plug layout, lens style, and included modules.
• Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
• Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape near painted edges around the tailgate, trunk, hatch, bed-side access, or cargo trim area.
• Do not force clips: If a lamp or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
• No grease on connectors: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.

Tools and supplies

Remove the original tail lights

1. Open the trunk side liner: Open the trunk and use a flathead screwdriver to remove the plastic clips from the side liner. Pull the liner panel aside to access the outer tail light mounting points.
   
   
2. Disconnect the wiring and remove the retaining nuts: Disconnect the four wiring plugs from the back of the outer tail light and remove the four retaining nuts.
   
   
3. Loosen the rear bumper cover: Remove the screws along the rear wheel arch and underneath the bumper. Pull the bumper cover outward slightly to expose the lower tail light bracket.
   
   
   
4. Remove the rear bumper cover: Carefully pull the rear bumper cover away from the vehicle and set it aside.
   
   
5. Remove the lower tail light bracket screws: Remove the screws from the brackets beneath the outer tail lights. Work carefully with rusted screws to avoid breaking them.
   
   
6. Remove the outer tail lights: Pull the outer tail lights away from the vehicle and disconnect all remaining connectors.
   
   
7. Remove the trunk lid liner: Remove or pry out the plastic clips securing the inner trunk lid panel, then remove the liner.
   
   
8. Remove the license plate garnish: Use needle-nose pliers to compress the plastic clips behind the license plate garnish. Remove the 10 mm bolt near the keyhole, then remove the outer garnish.
   
   
9. Remove the inner tail lights: Disconnect the inner tail light wiring plug and remove the four retaining nuts. Press the black retaining clip on the side of the light, then remove the inner tail light assembly.
   
   
10. Transfer the factory components: Turn the factory bulb sockets counterclockwise and remove them. Remove the lower bracket secured by one Phillips screw from the factory outer light and the black clip from the factory inner light, then install these components on the new lights.
    
    

Install the RIGNOX tail lights

1. Install the new tail lights and reassemble the vehicle: After connecting all plugs, align the new outer and inner tail lights with the mounting openings and push them into their original positions. Secure the lights with the factory screws and nuts.
   
   
   
2. Test all lighting functions: Activate each rear lighting function and confirm that the new LED tail lights operate correctly.
3. Reinstall all trim panels: Reinstall the license plate garnish, rear bumper cover, trunk liners, and plastic clips, then tighten all fasteners.
   

Electrical and function test

1. Confirm running/parking lights on both sides.
2. Confirm brake lights with a helper pressing the brake pedal.
3. Confirm left and right turn signals, hazards, and sequential behavior where supported.
4. Confirm reverse lights with the vehicle safely in reverse and the parking brake applied.
5. Confirm startup animation or RGB/app functions only after normal road-light functions pass.
6. Check for dashboard warnings, hyperflash, flicker, or intermittent operation before reinstalling final trim.

Final check

• All connectors are locked, dry, and routed without tension.
• Included modules or extra harnesses are secured away from heat, water paths, moving parts, and sharp edges.
• Both tail lights sit flush with even body gaps and properly seated seals.
• All supported lighting functions pass on both sides.

Troubleshooting
