2013-2015 Lexus RX350 / RX450h LED Quad Projector Headlights Installation Guide

Step-by-step RIGNOX installation guide for 2013-2015 Lexus RX350 / RX450h quad projector LED headlights, including the ACC power connection for the daytime running light and clearing the AFS warning.

Important: This online guide is a general overview for the matched RIGNOX product. Confirm hidden vehicle-side fasteners, trim clips, and wiring access points on your exact vehicle before removal.

Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

Matched product

  • Product: 2013-2015 Lexus RX350 / RX450h LED Quad Projector Headlights
  • Product type: Headlights
  • SKU: H-RX13-4P
  • Variant: Quad Projector
  • Fitment: Fits 2013-2015 Lexus RX350 and RX450h with factory halogen or HID headlights, including AFS-equipped cars (the headlights no longer swivel with the steering). Does not fit 2010-2012 RX350 / RX450h.

Before you begin

  • One extra power connection: The daytime running light (DRL) needs switched (ACC) power from the fuse box. Everything else plugs into the factory connectors through the adapter in the box.
  • AFS cars: If your RX has AFS (headlights that swivel with the steering), the swivel function will no longer work after installation, and the AFS fuse is removed to clear the dash warning.
  • Confirm the exact product: Compare the RIGNOX headlights to the product page images, including rear housing, plug layout, and lens style.
  • Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
  • Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape on the painted edges around the headlights, bumper cover, and fenders.
  • Do not force clips: If a lamp, bumper cover, or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
  • No grease on connectors: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; verify exact sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
  • A fuse tap that matches your fuse type, and a test light or multimeter to find a switched (ignition-on) fuse
  • Zip ties for routing the adapter harness and ACC cable
  • A wall or flat vertical surface for beam-pattern checking
  • A helper for turn-signal and high-beam testing

Remove the original headlights

  1. Open the hood and locate the headlight mounting points. Remove only the trim, covers, clips, or bumper fasteners needed to reach them on your car.
  2. Remove the mounting bolts while supporting the lamp with one hand so it does not drop.
  3. Release the lamp: Pull the headlight forward along its locating pins. Do not pry against painted panels.
  4. Disconnect the factory connectors: Press each lock tab and pull by the connector body, not by the wires.

Install the RIGNOX headlights

  1. Factory connectors: Connect the factory headlight connectors to the RIGNOX headlight through the adapter harness in the box — low beam, high beam, turn signal and DRL — and push until each lock tab clicks.
2013-2015 Lexus RX350 RX450h LED headlights - wiring, ACC cable and AFS fuse - steps 1-3
  2. DRL power (ACC): Route the ACC cable to the fuse box. With a test light, find a fuse that has power only with the ignition on (ACC), and connect the cable to it with a fuse tap. Never connect the DRL directly to the battery.
  3. AFS cars only: The headlights work fully but no longer swivel with the steering. To clear the AFS warning on the dash, remove the AFS fuse from the fuse box (see the image above).
  4. Secure the wiring: Zip-tie the adapter harness and the ACC cable away from heat, sharp edges, and moving parts.
  5. Test before mounting: Reconnect the battery, turn on the lights, and confirm every function works (see the test below) before fastening the lamp.
  6. Seat the lamp: Align the locating pins and press the headlight straight in until it sits flush with the hood, fender, and bumper.
  7. Reinstall the bolts and tighten evenly, without over-tightening the plastic mounts.
  8. Reinstall the trim and any bumper fasteners you removed, then repeat on the other side.

Electrical and beam test

  1. Turn the ignition on and confirm the DRL lights on both sides; turn it off and confirm the DRL goes out.
  2. Confirm low beam, then high beam.
  3. Confirm left and right turn signals with the stalk, then the hazards: the turn signal sweeps in sequence.
  4. Confirm the startup animation when the lights power on.
  5. Check for dashboard warnings, hyperflash, or flicker. On AFS cars, confirm the AFS warning is gone after the fuse is removed.
  6. Check beam aim against a flat wall and adjust with the aim adjusters on the back of the headlight.

Final check

  • All connectors are locked, and the DRL power connection is secure and insulated.
  • The DRL turns off with the ignition, so it cannot drain the battery.
  • Both headlights sit flush with even hood, fender, and bumper gaps.
  • All lighting functions pass on both sides, and the beams are aimed correctly.
  • No warning lights, flicker, or hyperflash after a short check drive.

Troubleshooting

  • DRL does not light: Check that the fuse you tapped has power with the ignition on, and that the fuse tap is fully seated.
  • DRL stays on with the car off: The tapped fuse is always-on. Move the lead to a fuse that is powered only with the ignition on.
  • One headlight does not turn on: Recheck the connector locks, the related fuse, and the battery connection.
  • Warning message, flicker, or hyperflash: See hyperflash and bulb-out warnings.
  • Still dark: Work through LED headlight or tail light not working.

Before you call it done

After the Install

No DRL plug in your harness? Vehicles that never had daytime running lights need the DRL lead wired to a fuse that switches with the key: how to find the right fuse with a test light, and how to tap it safely.

Aim the low beams before you drive at night; a projector an inch too high blinds oncoming traffic: the 25-foot wall method, and where the adjusters are on this housing.

Fast-blinking turn signals or a bulb-out message after the swap is a load issue, not a fault: how to tell hyperflash from flicker, and what to check first.

A thin mist inside the lens after a cold night is normal on any vented lamp: the automaker rule for fog vs a real leak.
