Important: This online guide is a product-image-verified overview for the matched RIGNOX product. Confirm hidden vehicle-side fasteners, trim clips, and wiring access points on your exact vehicle before removal.

Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

Product image checkpoints

  • The product reference images show direct-fit, plug-and-play style connection details. Match the supplied connector to the vehicle connector and confirm the lock tab seats fully before reinstalling trim.
  • Back-side or plug detail images are available for this item. Compare those photos with the removed original lamp before routing the harness.
  • The visible product-function references indicate running/parking light, brake light, reverse light, sequential turn signal, startup animation, RGB/app function checks for this product. Test each supported function before tightening the lamp and closing the access area.
  • If the kit includes a decoder, resistor, control module, or relay, secure it away from heat, moving parts, water paths, and sharp metal edges. Do not add universal electrical parts unless support confirms they are needed.
  • RGB or app-controlled lighting is for show/display use where allowed. Confirm standard road-light functions operate normally before using any color mode.

Product notes

  • Use the product reference images on this page as the product-side visual check for connector layout, rear housing shape, and lighting functions.
  • Original vehicle trim, clip style, and fastener locations can vary by year, trim, and previous repairs. Remove panels slowly and verify each fastener before pulling.
  • Road-lighting compliance and off-road/show-use notes are product specific. Review the matching RIGNOX product page for the exact language for this item.

Before you begin

  • Confirm the exact product: Compare the RIGNOX tail lights to the product reference images, including rear housing, plug layout, lens style, and included modules.
  • Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
  • Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape near painted edges around the trunk lid and quarter-panel trim area.
  • Do not force clips: If a lamp or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
  • No grease on connectors: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; verify exact sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
  • Electrical tape and zip ties for securing included harnesses only
  • A helper for brake-light and reverse-light testing

Remove the original tail lights

  1. Remove the Outer Taillight Retaining Nuts: Remove the retaining clips securing the trunk side trim panel. Carefully pull the trim panel aside to expose the back of the factory outer taillight. Use a socket wrench to remove the two retaining nuts securing the outer taillight assembly. Do not completely remove or sharply fold the trim panel. Move it only as far as necessary to access the taillight hardware.2019-2026 Nissan Altima LED tail lights installation step 1: trunk side trim panel and outer taillight retaining nuts

  2. Support the original tail light: Press the locking tabs and disconnect the electrical connectors from the factory outer taillight. Support the taillight assembly from the outside, then carefully pull it straight toward the rear of the vehicle to release it from the mounting points. Do not pull directly on the wires. Hold the connector body when disconnecting the electrical connectors.2019-2026 Nissan Altima LED tail lights installation step 2: disconnect and remove the factory outer taillight

  3. Install the RIGNOX Outer Taillight: Route the RIGNOX taillight wiring through the factory body opening shown in the image. Seat the rubber grommet securely in the body opening to keep the wiring in position and maintain a proper seal. Connect the RIGNOX taillight connectors to the corresponding factory electrical connectors. Make sure each connector is fully inserted and securely locked. Align the new outer taillight with the factory mounting points, install it in position, and reinstall the two retaining nuts.2019-2026 Nissan Altima LED tail lights installation step 3: route wiring and install the RIGNOX outer taillight

  4. Remove the Factory Inner Taillight: Open the trunk lid and carefully pull back the felt trim panel on the underside of the trunk lid to expose the back of the inner taillight. Disconnect the two electrical connectors from the factory inner taillight. Remove the four retaining nuts securing the inner taillight assembly. Support the lamp from the outside, then carefully remove the factory inner taillight from the trunk lid.2019-2026 Nissan Altima LED tail lights installation step 4: remove the factory inner trunk-lid taillight

Install the RIGNOX tail lights

  1. Install and Connect the RIGNOX Inner Taillights: Position the RIGNOX inner taillight in the factory mounting location. Align the mounting studs with the corresponding holes in the trunk lid. Connect the RIGNOX inner taillights. Reinstall the four retaining nuts and tighten them evenly. Do not overtighten the nuts. Use the two supplied connecting harnesses to connect the inner and outer taillight sections on the left and right sides. The supplied connecting harnesses allow the inner and outer taillight sections to operate together. Do not omit these connections.2019-2026 Nissan Altima LED tail lights installation step 5: install inner taillights and connect the linking harnesses

  2. Test the Taillight Functions: Before reinstalling the trunk trim panels, switch on the vehicle power and test all taillight functions. Check the running lights, brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, startup animation and RGB control functions. Verify that the inner and outer taillight sections operate correctly and that the lighting effects are synchronized on both sides.2019-2026 Nissan Altima LED tail lights installation step 6: test all taillight functions before reinstalling trim

Electrical and function test

  1. Confirm running/parking lights on both sides.
  2. Confirm brake lights with a helper pressing the brake pedal.
  3. Confirm left and right turn signals, hazards, and sequential behavior where supported.
  4. Confirm reverse lights with the vehicle safely in reverse and the parking brake applied.
  5. Confirm startup animation or RGB/app functions only after normal road-light functions pass.
  6. Check for dashboard warnings, hyperflash, flicker, or intermittent operation before reinstalling final trim.

Final check

  • All connectors are locked, dry, and routed without tension.
  • Included modules or extra harnesses are secured away from heat, water paths, moving parts, and sharp edges.
  • Both tail lights sit flush with even body gaps and properly seated seals.
  • All supported lighting functions pass on both sides.
  • No warning lights, flicker, hyperflash, abnormal heat, moisture issue, or loose wiring remains after a short check drive.

Troubleshooting

  • One lamp does not turn on: Recheck the main connector lock, related fuse, and battery connection.
  • One function does not work: Compare the plug area to the product reference images and verify the connector is fully seated.
  • Warning message, flicker, or hyperflash: Confirm the correct product variant was installed and that any included decoder, resistor, or relay is connected and secured.
  • Moisture appears: Light condensation may clear as the lamp warms. Heavy or persistent moisture should be documented with photos before continued use.
  • RGB/app feature does not respond: Confirm the product variant supports RGB, the controller has power, and the app/controller pairing has been completed.
