Product image checkpoints

  • The product reference images show direct-fit, plug-and-play style connection details. Match the supplied connector to the vehicle connector and confirm the lock tab seats fully before reinstalling trim.
  • Back-side or plug detail images are available for this item. Compare those photos with the removed original lamp before routing the harness.
  • The visible product-function references indicate projector beam output, low beam, high beam, DRL, sequential turn signal, white/amber switchback behavior, RGB/app function checks for this product. Confirm beam pattern and function behavior before final bumper or grille reassembly.
  • If the kit includes a decoder, resistor, control module, or relay, secure it away from heat, moving parts, water paths, and sharp metal edges. Do not add universal electrical parts unless support confirms they are needed.
  • RGB or app-controlled lighting is for show/display use where allowed. Confirm standard road-light functions operate normally before using any color mode.

Product notes

  • Use the product reference images on this page as the product-side visual check for connector layout, rear housing shape, and lighting functions.
  • Original vehicle trim, clip style, and fastener locations can vary by year, trim, and previous repairs. Remove panels slowly and verify each fastener before pulling.
  • Road-lighting compliance and off-road/show-use notes are product specific. Review the matching RIGNOX product page for the exact language for this item.

Before you begin

  • Confirm the exact product: Compare the RIGNOX headlights to the product reference images, including rear housing, plug layout, lens style, and included modules.
  • Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
  • Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape near painted edges around the hood, grille, bumper edge, or fender liner area.
  • Do not force clips: If a lamp or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
  • No grease on connectors: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; verify exact sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
  • Electrical tape and zip ties for securing included harnesses only
  • A wall or flat vertical surface for beam-pattern checking

Remove the original headlights

  1. Protect the fenders and remove the grille clips: Apply painter's tape along the fender edges to prevent scratches. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to gently lift the center pins and remove the plastic clips securing the upper grille cover. The clips may be brittle, so avoid pulling them out before releasing the center pins.

  2. Remove the bumper screws inside the wheel wells: Turn the steering wheel to create additional clearance, then use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw securing each bumper corner to the fender. Repeat on both sides of the vehicle. Apply steady inward pressure while turning to avoid stripping rusted screw heads.

  3. Remove the upper engine shroud: After confirming that all upper clips and fender screws have been removed, place both hands beneath the large plastic shroud, apply steady and even pressure, and carefully lift and pull it forward from its mounting points.

  4. Remove the lower bumper bolts and clips: From underneath the front bumper, use a 10 mm socket and flat-blade screwdriver to remove the bolts and remaining plastic clips securing the splash shield to the bottom of the bumper.

  5. Remove the hidden lower bumper fasteners: Continue underneath the vehicle and remove the concealed screws and push clips along the splash-shield extension and lower bumper support. Confirm that every lower fastener is fully released before pulling the bumper.

  6. Remove the front bumper cover: Firmly grip each bumper corner near the fender and pull outward to release the retaining clips. After both sides are free, pull the bumper cover straight forward and disconnect the fog-light connectors if equipped. Place the bumper on clean cardboard or a protective mat to prevent scratches.

  7. Remove the three headlight mounting bolts: Use a 10 mm socket and ratchet to remove the three bolts securing the factory headlight: one on top, one on the inner side near the grille, and one at the lower outer corner exposed after removing the bumper. Use a socket extension to reach the recessed lower bolt where necessary.

Install the RIGNOX headlights

  1. Transfer the factory lower mounting bracket: Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the factory mounting bracket from the bottom or side of the original headlight. Align its positioning pins with the corresponding slots on the new LED headlight, reinstall it in the same position, and tighten the screws securely without overtightening.

  2. Connect the factory harnesses and position the new headlight: Connect the low-beam, high-beam, turn-signal, and side-marker harnesses to their corresponding sockets on the rear of the new headlight. Push each connector in until it locks, confirm that no wires are pinched, and slide the headlight assembly into the chassis mounting rails.

  3. Secure and align the new headlight: Reinstall and tighten all factory 10 mm mounting bolts to secure the headlight to the radiator support and lower frame brackets. Before fully tightening the upper bolts, adjust the housing so the lens edges sit flush with the hood and fender panels and the surrounding body gaps are even.

  4. Reinstall the front bumper cover: Guide the center upper section of the bumper cover over the grille support, align both bumper corners with the sides of the vehicle, and press them straight into the fender brackets until the retaining clips snap into place.

  5. Reinstall all remaining fasteners and trim panels: Reinstall the splash-shield bolts, lower support screws, wheel-well screws, upper engine shroud, and top plastic clips in the reverse order of removal. Confirm that no clips or screws remain loose, then slowly remove the painter's tape at a 45-degree angle.

Electrical and function test

  1. Confirm low beam and high beam operate on both sides.
  2. Confirm DRL, parking light, amber turn signal, hazard, sequential, and switchback behavior where supported by this product.
  3. Confirm startup animation or RGB/app functions only after normal road-light functions pass.
  4. Check for dashboard warnings, flicker, or intermittent operation before reinstalling final trim.
  5. Verify beam aim after installation so the cutoff is safe and even.

Final check

  • All connectors are locked, dry, and routed without tension.
  • Included modules or extra harnesses are secured away from heat, water paths, moving parts, and sharp edges.
  • Both headlights sit flush with even body gaps and properly seated seals.
  • All supported lighting functions pass on both sides.
  • No warning lights, flicker, hyperflash, abnormal heat, moisture issue, or loose wiring remains after a short check drive.

Troubleshooting

  • One lamp does not turn on: Recheck the main connector lock, related fuse, and battery connection.
  • One function does not work: Compare the plug area to the product reference images and verify the connector is fully seated.
  • Warning message, flicker, or hyperflash: Confirm the correct product variant was installed and that any included decoder, resistor, or relay is connected and secured.
  • Moisture appears: Light condensation right after installation is normal and usually clears within about a week of regular driving as the lamp warms up. If water collects inside or the moisture doesn't clear, contact RIGNOX support.
  • Beam pattern is too high or uneven: Recheck lamp seating first, then adjust aim on a flat surface.
  • RGB/app feature does not respond: Confirm the product variant supports RGB, the controller has power, and the app/controller pairing has been completed.

Before you call it done

After the Install

No DRL plug in your harness? Vehicles that never had daytime running lights need the DRL lead wired to a fuse that switches with the key: how to find the right fuse with a test light, and how to tap it safely.

Aim the low beams before you drive at night; a projector an inch too high blinds oncoming traffic: the 25-foot wall method, and where the adjusters are on this housing.

Fast-blinking turn signals or a bulb-out message after the swap is a load issue, not a fault: how to tell hyperflash from flicker, and what to check first.

A thin mist inside the lens after a cold night is normal on any vented lamp: the automaker rule for fog vs a real leak.
