2007-2013 Toyota Tundra & 2008-2017 Sequoia LED Projector Headlights | Switchback DRL Installation Guide

2007-2013 Toyota Tundra & 2008-2017 Sequoia LED Projector Headlights installation guide

Important: This online guide is a product-image-verified overview for the matched RIGNOX product. It uses the product page, product reference images, and visible lighting-function details to guide product-side checks. Confirm hidden vehicle-side fasteners, trim clips, and wiring access points on your exact vehicle before removal.

Safety warning: Do NOT use dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets. Grease can cause connection problems and may affect warranty coverage.

Matched product

Product image checkpoints

  • The product reference images show direct-fit, plug-and-play style connection details. Match the supplied connector to the vehicle connector and confirm the lock tab seats fully before reinstalling trim.
  • Back-side or plug detail images are available for this item. Compare those photos with the removed original lamp before routing the harness.
  • The visible product-function references indicate projector beam output, low beam, high beam, DRL, sequential turn signal, white/amber switchback behavior checks for this product. Confirm beam pattern and function behavior before final bumper or grille reassembly.
  • If the kit includes a decoder, resistor, control module, or relay, secure it away from heat, moving parts, water paths, and sharp metal edges. Do not add universal electrical parts unless support confirms they are needed.

Product notes

  • Use the product reference images on this page as the product-side visual check for connector layout, rear housing shape, and lighting functions.
  • Original vehicle trim, clip style, and fastener locations can vary by year, trim, and previous repairs. Remove panels slowly and verify each fastener before pulling.
  • Road-lighting compliance and off-road/show-use notes are product specific. Review the matching RIGNOX product page for the exact language for this item.

Before you begin

  • Auto Leveling and Headlight Washer: These two functions are not supported. If your vehicle has either, the headlights still install and operate normally and set no fault codes, but automatic levelling and the washers stop working. Decide whether that is acceptable before removing anything.
  • Confirm the exact product: Compare the RIGNOX headlights to the product reference images, including rear housing, plug layout, lens style, and included modules.
  • Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
  • Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape near painted edges around the hood, grille, bumper edge, or fender liner area.
  • Do not force clips: If a lamp or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
  • No grease on connectors: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.

Tools and supplies

  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Metric socket and ratchet set; verify exact sizes on the vehicle before removal
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers
  • Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
  • Electrical tape and zip ties for securing included harnesses only
  • A wall or flat vertical surface for beam-pattern checking

Remove the original headlights

  1. Remove the trim panel below the headlight: Open the hood and locate the trim panel below the factory headlight. Remove the two retaining clips with a trim removal tool, then place a soft cloth over the painted surface and carefully pry the trim panel away from the fender.

  2. Remove the three headlight mounting bolts: Use a 10 mm socket to remove the three bolts securing the factory headlight assembly. Keep the bolts in a safe place for installation of the Rignox headlight.

  4. Disconnect the factory wiring connectors: Support the removed headlight assembly and disconnect all electrical connectors from the back of the factory headlight. Press or release each locking tab before separating the connector, and do not pull directly on the wires.

Install the RIGNOX headlights

  1. Connect the Rignox headlight wiring: Connect the Rignox headlight wiring to the corresponding vehicle connectors. Connector A is for the low beam, connector B is for the high beam, and connector C is the signal wire. High-spec models should use the supplied adapter harness where applicable.
To set the turn signal DRL to white, connect plugs a and c. To set the turn signal DRL to yellow, connect plugs a and b. Use only the connection combination for the color you select and make sure every connected plug is fully seated.
This colour selection applies to the Dual Projector build. On the Triple Projector build the daytime running light is white only and there is no colour plug to choose — connect the supplied leads as they are.

  2. Test and secure the Rignox headlight assembly: Test all lighting functions before securing the headlight. Once everything works correctly, install the headlight in the factory position and reinstall the three bolts and lower trim panel. Repeat the same steps on the opposite side.

Electrical and function test

  1. Confirm low beam and high beam operate on both sides.
  2. Confirm DRL, parking light, amber turn signal, hazard, sequential, and switchback behavior where supported by this product.
  3. Confirm startup animation or RGB/app functions only after normal road-light functions pass. The startup animation runs on the Dual Projector build; the Triple Projector build does not have one.
  4. Check for dashboard warnings, flicker, or intermittent operation before reinstalling final trim.
  5. Verify beam aim after installation so the cutoff is safe and even.

Final check

  • All connectors are locked, dry, and routed without tension.
  • Included modules or extra harnesses are secured away from heat, water paths, moving parts, and sharp edges.
  • Both headlights sit flush with even body gaps and properly seated seals.
  • All supported lighting functions pass on both sides.
  • No warning lights, flicker, hyperflash, abnormal heat, moisture issue, or loose wiring remains after a short check drive.

Troubleshooting

  • One lamp does not turn on: Recheck the main connector lock, related fuse, and battery connection.
  • One function does not work: Compare the plug area to the product reference images and verify the connector is fully seated.
  • Warning message, flicker, or hyperflash: Confirm the correct product variant was installed and that any included decoder, resistor, or relay is connected and secured.
  • Moisture appears: Light condensation may clear as the lamp warms. Heavy or persistent moisture should be documented with photos before continued use.
  • Beam pattern is too high or uneven: Recheck lamp seating first, then adjust aim on a flat surface.
