Product notes

• Three projector cups per side: two bi-function for low and high beam, one dedicated low beam, plus a white DRL bar across the top of the housing.
• The XV50 shipped with either a factory halogen projector or a factory HID depending on trim. Both connect directly with no adapter, so there is nothing to identify before ordering.
• On the RGB build, the multi-colour sweep is part of the startup animation only. It is preset, runs on its own, and does not change the white road beam.
• Chrome and SE dark housings use different factory part numbers but share the same opening.
• Compliance and off-road/show-use language is product specific. Review the matching RIGNOX product page for the exact wording for this item.

Before you begin

• Confirm the exact product: Check your kit SKU against the list above before removing original parts.
• Work powered down: Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal when handling wiring.
• Protect body panels: Use clean towels or masking tape around painted panels, the hood edge, and grille trim.
• Do not force clips: If a lamp or trim panel does not move, stop and look for another fastener or locating pin.
• No connector grease: Do not apply dielectric grease or weather-sealing grease to connectors or sockets.
• Front-end note: Leave grille and bumper trim loose until every lighting function passes testing and beam aim is set.

Tools and supplies

• Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
• Metric socket and ratchet set; confirm the exact socket sizes on your vehicle before removal
• Phillips and flat screwdrivers

Remove the original headlights

1. Open front access: Open the hood and remove only the grille trim, upper bumper fasteners, and access covers required to reach the headlight fasteners.
2. Expose lamp fasteners: Release clips with a trim tool rather than a screwdriver. Work slowly and confirm each fastener before pulling.
3. Support the lamp: Hold the headlight with one hand while removing the remaining bolts or clips.
4. Disconnect vehicle connectors: Press each lock tab and pull by the connector body, not by the wires.
5. Release locating pins: Draw the headlight straight forward. Do not pry against painted body panels.
6. Repeat on the opposite side: Complete one side fully before starting the other, so the original assembly stays available as a reference.

Install the RIGNOX headlights

1. Compare assemblies before mounting: Compare the removed original and the RIGNOX headlight. Transfer brackets, seals, or adjuster hardware only where the original clearly carries a part the new one does not.
2. Connect the main harness: Match each included connector to the corresponding vehicle connector and confirm the lock tab clicks into place. Where an adapter is supplied, connect through the adapter rather than forcing a direct plug.
3. Secure wiring before mounting: Use zip ties to prevent rubbing, pinching, water pooling, or contact with the hood latch, radiator support, and exhaust heat.
4. Seat and fasten the lamp: Align locating pins and check panel gaps against the hood, fender, and grille before tightening. Tighten evenly without over-tightening plastic mounts.
5. Reinstall trim last: Leave grille and bumper trim loose until every electrical function passes testing and beam aim is set.

Electrical and function test

1. Test daytime running lights, low beam, high beam, left and right turn signals, hazards, and the startup animation.
2. Confirm the turn signal sweeps in sequential amber on the correct side.
3. Confirm no hyperflash or flicker appears after two ignition cycles.
4. After all tests pass, reinstall grille and bumper trim and confirm no wire is stretched or pinched.

Set the beam aim

1. Park square to a flat wall about 25 feet away on level ground, with a normal fuel load and no unusual weight in the trunk or cargo area.
2. Mark the height of each beam centre on the wall and compare the two sides.
3. Use the headlight adjusters to bring the cut-off line level and even across both sides.
4. This step matters here because the vehicle is moving to a projector with a sharp cut-off. A projector aimed too high is worse for oncoming traffic than the lamp it replaced.

Final check

• All connectors are fully seated and locked.
• All included harnesses and adapters are secured away from movement, sharp edges, water paths, and heat sources.
• Both lamps sit flush with even body gaps and no trapped harness behind the assembly.
• All headlight functions test correctly on both sides with a helper operating the controls.
• Beam aim is set and even.
• No warning lights, hyperflash, flickering, abnormal heat, moisture entry, or loose modules remain after a short function check.

Troubleshooting

• One headlight does not turn on: Recheck the main connector on that side and the corresponding fuse.
• Warning, flicker, or hyperflash appears: Confirm the connector is fully seated, and that the correct adapter is used where one is supplied, before assuming a fault in the assembly.
• Trim will not sit flush: Check for a trapped harness, a broken or missing clip, or a locating pin that has not seated.
• Beam pattern looks uneven: Recheck aim against a flat wall before adjusting anything else.
