Before you begin

  • Vehicle: 2023-2026 Honda Accord 11th Gen sedan tail light and trunk-lid light-bar installation.
  • Tools confirmed from the reference images: ratchet wrench, 10mm socket, 8mm socket, and pry/trim removal tool.
  • Protect the trunk trim: The installation requires removing trunk trim, PE foam, license-plate-opening fasteners, and the original camera from the trunk-lid assembly.
  • Low-trim note: The reference shows separate low-trim harness adapters for the cornering lamps and through-light. Confirm whether your vehicle needs the supplied low-trim harness before final assembly.

Remove the original trunk-lid through-light assembly

  1. Remove the trunk-lid liner: Use a trim removal tool to release the plastic retaining clips from the inner trunk-lid liner. Remove the liner to access the wiring and mounting fasteners underneath.

  3. Function test before final trim

  1. Reconnect power temporarily and test running lights, brake lights, turn signals, hazards, reverse lights if applicable, startup animation, and RGB/app control if equipped.
  2. Confirm the rear camera image works after the camera is transferred and reconnected.
  3. Open and close the trunk slowly to confirm the routed connecting wire does not stretch, pinch, or rub on the hinge/rocker arm.
  4. After all functions pass, reinstall the PE foam, trunk clips, license-plate-opening trim, and trunk-lid panels.

Troubleshooting

  • Through-light does not sit flush: Recheck the white clips and hold the assembly upward while tightening the screws.
  • Camera does not work: Recheck the camera transfer, connector lock, and left-side connector shown in the reference.
  • One side does not light: Recheck whether the vehicle needs the low-trim harness adapter or the standard harness connection.
  • Wire rubs when the trunk moves: Re-route the flat/curved light connecting wire and secure it with zip ties along the path shown in the reference.
